Week Three            The "Order of the Block" Award

Archerfield's DC4 owner - Dr Russell Broadbent - was awarded the "Order of the Block" in a moving ceremony at the AirCentre Christmas BBQ last Friday the 10th

The Y2K certified block of 4B2 was awarded to Russell for his "fighting" contribution on the light aircraft scene, in particular his efforts to maintain sensibility in dealing with the courts and the aviation legal system which has in the past required vast sums of money for him to remain "Legal"

The original recipient of the "Order of the Block" was Boyd Munro in July 1996 in recognition of his outstanding efforts on the ELT issue for light aircraft when he was Vice-President of AOPA

Russell - as well as being the DC4 owner - is also an aviation medical examiner, keen warbird enthusiast, instructor and flying school owner and charter operator, which also includes aircraft maintenance hangars and workshops here at Archerfield and Lismore, and more recently, he has been admitted to the Queensland Bar as a member of the legal fraternity

Boyd Munro's Proclamation:-

"Congratulations to Russell Broadbent on receiving Australia's most prestigious, and least hypocritical, aviation award"
