WATTS is ALL NEW
The Watts Bridge airfield north west of Archerfield and base airport for the Queensland Vintage Aeroplane Group
held a "Breakfast Fly-in" on Sunday 4th June
About 30 vintage aeroplanes turned up including 2 classic Beech Staggerwings plus a number of "ordinary" types including the AirCentre Grumman Cheetah
Of particular interest - once the airfield was sighted from the air - was the amount of progress the airfield had undergone since the previous visit only 12 months ago
|
A number of "Air Chalets" were under construction with "NO SITES LEFT" signs denoting that all the 37 previously available Chalet lots had been sold
One almost completed Air Chalet will consist of two buildings - a cottage and a hangar for the aircraft
