Week Four - A Weak Week

No News is Not Always Good News

Regular visitors to this news page will have noticed the issue of Week Three News was not released this month

  • Lack of worthwhile articles during the past week has again (refer last month) resulted in a reduced monthly issue

Of interest this week for those who would like to know more about the future direction of Archerfield was the airfield owner Gavin Bird calling in to the news desk a few days ago for a 'coffee 'n chat'
  •  From discussions it appears that the future economic viability of the airfield is to be based on the 'big' aircraft visiting the airfield - like the corporate jet types - rather than what was the previous situation of only a few years ago when numerous 'small' aircraft dominated the area

    News Desk Observation

    • Sounds good .......but there is only one small problem:-
    • Due to our ever-falling dollar over the past 15 years most of the OZ Corporate Jet population has returned to the USA!

    In Other News
    Another New Hangar

Construction has begun on a reasonable sized hangar on the western side of the airfield in the area near the old woolstore

And the "jet turbine" parking area adjacent to the main terminal is in the process of a rejunivation project requiring the replacement of the incorrect base material originally installed by the previous 'owner' (FAC) of the airfield about a decade ago
