Situation Awareness

It may well have been an un-recognized engine failure with the twin engined Cessna C310 that lead to a dangerous below VMC situation and a high density height due hot conditions resulting in a poor climb performance at all up weight with the Beech A 23 Musketeer, that - in the end - resulted in both aircraft striking the ground in an uncontrolled condition

After the incidents of the past week, the value and importance of human factors in flying should be obvious to all

Click to enlarge For those of you who may be interested, the Aviation Safety Foundation's representative, Doug Edwards, can offer a "Professional Pilot" safety course based on the "Wombat-CS", a Situational Awareness and Stress Tolerance measurement program

Doug and the "Wombat" can be contacted at the AirCentre Office Archerfield most work days
