A surfing holiday group of 6 Aussies were among the 29 passengers and 5 crew on-board an ageing twin turboprop Fokker F27 aircraft that had an engine failure shortly after take-off from Manila airport in the Philippines

"The plane took off. It flew for three minutes, and then the engine kind of got quiet"

The Laoag Air aircraft ended up ditching into Manila Bay and sank within a few minutes

2 Bomb Scares in 2 Days

 November 8  
Virgin Blue announced today that they had to remove a passenger from an aircraft in north QLD after receiving a bomb threat

The aircraft was about to depart Cairns for Melbourne and was taxi-ing on the runway when a passenger made "an inappropriate comment"
