 February 13 
Over the past week in OZ 3 helicopters have hit the ground unintentionally

February 5 a helicopter on a geological flight crashed south of the McArthur River Mine airstrip near Borroloola in the Northern Territory with the 3 POB escaping injury

February 6 saw a flying instructor and student escaping when the Robinson R22 helicopter they were in crashed at Moorabbin

February 12 a helicopter struck power lines south of Mareeba in Far North QLD and both occupants " had freed themselves by the time emergency crews arrived"

ATO Pilot Lost in Night Training

 February 8 
A twin-engine B76 Beechcraft Dutchess impacted the ground and burst into flames shortly after take-off at Camden airport on a night training flight

Of the 2 persons onboard the Bankstown based aircraft, one received serious burns and failed to recover in hospital and the other is in a serious but stable condition

The pilot who lost his life was an experienced testing officer and a great loss to the professional pilot training community
