NT Fishing Expedition Disaster

November 8
A charted (R-44?) helicopter returning from a fishing trip crashed in a remote area 23nm north-west of Kununurra in the NT

"People on board a second helicopter travelling with the group witnessed the crash"

All 4 on board - believed to be NT locals - did not survive the accident

Helicopters have been proven useful of late for both locals and tourists wanting to catch the "big barra" in remote and inaccessible wetlands of the Northern Territory

BK Pilot Training in Twin Prang

November 11
A Piper Seneca twin undergoing pilot training exercises at Bankstown crashed on the airport one person out of the 2 on board - a trainee pilot from Hong Kong - did not survive

The survivor - a 29yo 1500hr flying instructor - sustained serious injuries exiting the burning aircraft

The operator of the PA-34 - Proflite Australia - indicated the aircraft was carrying out 'touch-and-go's' prior to impact and the subsequent fire
