November 22
The British Concorde G-BOAD - built in 1976 - returned to New York early November to begin a new life in retirement at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum based on
the Hudson River
|
After spending most of it's life - that's around 27 years - travelling at more than twice the speed of sound, this darling of the jet-setters was loaded aboard a barge
and moved slowly seaward to it's last and final resting place so that it can be admired by all who care to visit the world's only supersonic passenger aircraft that was in regular service
for 3 decades
