Strong and gusty weather conditions has been given for the reason a rented Cessna C150 flipped over when attempting to land at Caloundra Airport around 1400hrs







The Archerfield based 2-seater collapsed the nosewheel causing extensive damage

The father and son crew were not seriously injured

Airbus Emergency at Sydney

September 15
A Balinese Air Paradise International Airbus A-300 with 178 POB made an emergency landing at Sydney airport


The Airbus enroute from Melbourne to Denpassar in Bali - advised air traffic control that it was "...having hydraulic problems" (indicator light on)


Full emergency services were activated


The A-300 landed without further incident around 1005hrs

USA's Thunderbirds F-16 Disaster

September 15
Around 85,000 spectators at the Gunfighter Skies 2003 Airshow at the Mountain Home Air Force Base - about 50 miles SE of Boise Idaho - escaped injury when one of the formation team members got into trouble in his F-16

From TV footage it appears that the F-16 fighter experienced an engine failure pulling out at the end of an aerobatic manoeuvre


The pilot ejected safely suffering only "minor injuries"

A Russian Tu-160 Blackjack supersonic bomber has crashed on a maintenance test flight after one of it's engines was replaced
