CASA's annual report on aviation safety has shown that fatal accidents in light aircraft over
the past 10 years has fallen by an average of 5.7 per cent each year
And there is a similar comparison of falling light aircraft fatalities over the past 20
years
What is not mentioned is the low fatal accident rate for aircraft flown by private pilots
compared to their professional counterparts who were involved in the majority of the fatal's in recent times

2004 is about expire - 2005 is on standby ready to slot in where '04 left off
2005 is expected to be just as interesting as the past year - coming up is the
Around-the-World Solo Non-Stop flight, and for those of you who can remember, the Ligeti Stratos is expected to
fly again after a 20 year absence
This remarkable ultralight aircraft is under construction by the designer's son, Ron, after his
father was killed in an advanced prototype of the Stratos during low-level test flying in 1987
Back in the 80's ultralights were not allowed to fly above 300 feet - test flying at that height
was an invitation by OZ authorities to test your luck
