The Debate:- Are Twins Safer than Single Engine Aircraft? - You be the Judge

July 25
Sunday in South-East QLD
Well known Redcliffe ultralight pilot - Andy Dunlop - had a minor altercation with a farmer's cane paddock when his fully loaded Bundaberg designed Jabiru ultralight refused to be in the start of an "around Australia" flight

The engine lost power shortly after take-off forcing Andy to try for a local cane paddock road rather than risk a return to an airport - there were no injuries to Andy or his female passenger with the aircraft expected to be repaired and flying again in a few weeks

On the Other Side of the World
A twin engine Baron with 3 POB ended up in suburban residential street after what appears to be a loss of control following an engine failure shortly after take-off

Images indicate the left engine lost power with the pilot failing to maintain an airspeed above minimum control allowing the aircraft to enter a "flat spin" from which recovery is impossible... ...all on board perished
