Alcohol-Drug Mix Deadly on Island

March 18
The ATSB has found that alcohol and cannabis may have contributed to the Hamilton Island Air Taxi accident 18 months ago when all 6 persons on board a Piper PA-32 were killed during an attempted return back to the departure runway

"The ATSB also suggested pilot inexperience is the more likely reason for the crash and has recommended a regime of random alcohol testing (for pilots) be introduced"
