Hangar Dismantled at Archerfield after Ground Lease Expires
Owners Choose to Leave Airport after 30+ Years Occupation

As mentioned in last week's report a number of Archerfield Hangar Owners were in a dilemma over their ground lease non-renewal - after having spent several thousand dollars a number of years ago in construction of the building to protect their very valuable property - now forced to pay substantial rent increases to the airport owner/operator after their lease term expires if they wish to remain

One group-owned hanger resolved the issue by having the building (alongside Gil Layt's Flying School - it housed 6 aircraft) dismantled and removed

Fire Engulfs Canadian Airbus - Lands Long During Storm & Runs Out of Runway

All 309 passengers and crew aboard an Air France Airbus A340 have survived after the passenger jet burst into flames after running out of runway at Canada's Toronto Pearson International Airport during an electrical storm

The Airbus on a flight from Paris to Toronto landed during a wild storm with some observers suggesting it may have been struck by lightning

Images indicate the overheated brakes may have caused the fire when the machine ran into a ditch
