Vickers Vimy Bomber Replica Re-Enactment of 1919 Atlantic Flight
Pilots Alcock & Brown's Crossing of 86 Years Ago Remembered

Adventurer Steve Fossett is at it again - not creating or breaking records this time but re-creating one of the early pioneer flights from Newfoundland in the Americas to western Ireland

The original flight in 1919 was carried out by two British pilots Alcock and Brown in an ex-military Vickers Vimy the flight - then and now - took about 16½ hours to complete the crossing of the Atlantic Ocean using only primitive navigation equipment

Steve has featured a number of times within these news pages in record setting adventures - click HERE for recent solo non-stop global circumnavigation and HERE for the solo balloon circumnavigation in 2002
