A recent court case in Bali has highlighted the need to have all airline baggage checks carried
out thoroughly and without any doubts as to the contents to ensure no illegal items (read bomb here) can be stowed on
      board an aircraft

A 27-y-o student from QLD's Gold Coast was found guilty of trying to import 4.1Kgs of a "Class 1"
narcotic into Indonesia that was found in one of her "unlocked" bags during routine customs checks

The Indonesians were able to identify "vegetable matter" during x-ray baggage checks in Bali
(inbound) which was missed (apparently) by OZ electronic/x-ray checks on the outbound (Brisbane) section of the flight

It appears to the News Desk that the equipment and system used for baggage inspections in Indonesia
is superior to that found here in OZ and perhaps the OZ Government should consider inviting the Indonesians to OZ and help
      train our airport baggage inspectors
