OZe F-111 Military Might for Easter Kiwi International Air-Show
Skydivers Display Extreme Skill in Exiting Twin-Engine Beech-18

April 14  2006
The Wanaka International Air-Show held biennially in Kiwi Land attracts the best in the business - including the OZ military and the RAAF F-111 'dump-and-burn' machines from nearby Amberley Air Base west of Archerfield

Only one small problem - 1 of the two F-111 aircraft from #6 squadron Amberley assigned to display their stuff for the air-show assemblage was involved in an emergency landing at Christchurch in New Zealand

But the OZ public need not worry about our military ..only the media - one media report incorrectly mentions the privately funded Kiwi air-show as a "major military airshow" - however it's nice to know that all is well elsewhere "...technicians are flying from Amberley with spare parts to repair the F-111 in time for its scheduled appearance..."

From the Mail Box
The News Desk receives some interesting mail during the course of the week - one e-mail that passed over the desk was of significant interest to display to the readers of these news pages - the e-mail had this image attached which needs no explanation  (click on image to enlarge)

The origin of the image is not recorded but it could only happen in just one place on this planet - that sort of 'showing-off' in aviation pursuits is just not allowed here in OZ - the pilot would lose his flying ticket if nailed! - Note the full deflection of rudder-trim on the port rudder needed to help with the pilot's 'dead-foot dead-engine' leg exertion in asymmetric flight conditions  - click the image again!
