Emergency services in NSW have located the wreckage of an ultralight aircraft that went missing after departing Goulburn airport about 18 hours earlier and was reported overdue by concerned family and friends

The two Goulburn based experienced recreational pilots on board were found to be deceased

Images indicate the 2-place composite Sting aircraft impacted the ground in a near vertical attitude

The Czech Republic designed "Sting" incorporated the latest in composite technology including a rocket assisted parachute system - media images indicate the 'chute may have been deployed too low and/or too late

Police report both men were of "mature-age"
