The News Desk wishes to advise readers that Archerfield's most well known personality - George Ditchmen OAM - passed away two days ago at the Greenslopes Hospital

Up until a few months ago 93 year-old George still turned up at his business on Archerfield - albeit a bit less frequently than in the previous 'heady' years at the 'field - he will be sadly missed by all who knew him

 
Two weeks ago George's tools and workshop equipment were put up for auction - rising ground rents and declining aviation activity at Archerfield necessitated the closure of his aircraft engineering business after 60 years of operation

The service for George is to be held at the Mount Thompson Crematorium on Wednesday July 11^th at 1000hrs
