Mackay Marine Pilot in Ocean Ducking along with Chopper Pilot

A marine pilot on his way to a cargo ship around 100 kms north-east of Mackay ended up in the drink uninjured along with his pilot after the Bell 206 turbine helicopter they in experienced engine failure after departing Mackay in QLD

Raglan's Old Station Long Weekend Fly-In 2007 Report

Creed's Old Station property at Raglan south-west of Rockhampton became the focus of extensive light aircraft activity over the week-end for the 15th annual fly-in and airshow - fast becoming one of the more successful sporting event on the OZ aviation calender

Aviators from around the country find this long weekend an ideal way to catch up on old mates and/or find new ones

Noticed amongst the wide variety of modern and vintage aircraft was a Cessna Caravan operated by a well known OZ aviation achiever (place mouse over this line to view)

Longreach - Final Resting Place for First Qantas Passenger Jet

A restored Boeing 707-138B - the first pure jet owned and operated by Qantas back in the late 50's touched down at it's final resting place to-day at the Longreach Qantas Foundation Memorial - the birthplace of Qantas then known as the "Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services"

The 47-year-old aircraft - aptly named "City of Canberra" was located in the UK where it was about to be scrapped

 
The B707-138B is now on permanent display at Longreach's Qantas Founders' Museum along with the 'retired from service' B747

Retired Qantas B707 engineers and supporters undertook a painstakingly and detailed restoration over more than 4 years to enable the old flying machine to return to the skies
