A relativity new Kenyan operated Boeing 737 is reported missing on a flight from Douala in Cameroon to Nairobi -
contact with the aircraft was lost 11 minutes after departure
The departure had been delayed due heavy rain - poor weather conditions hampered the search operations which eventually
located the aircraft wreckage in swampland in south-west Cameroon

It was more than 36 hours after it was reported missing before search crews were able to locate the aircraft
Kenya Airways is the largest carrier in East Africa and considered one of the safest on the continent
