The Caloundra based Curry-Kenny Aviation Group is now Australia's largest privately owned aviation company after the recent
purchase of the Slingair Heliwork company
|
|
"With 36 aircraft operating out of several bases
in the East Kimberley and up to 80 additional staff during peak season the Kununurra-based Slingair Heliwork takes the Curry-Kenny Aviation Group to
about 60 rotary and fixed wing aircraft and almost 200 personnel"

One major issue facing operators at Caloundra is the projected closure of the airport
|
Rob Rich the Curry Kenny Aviation Group business development manager is reported in the media saying the state government was supposed to have finalised a
report in June on the future use of airports in Queensland
“It’s been put on hold, so the operators (at Caloundra) just don’t know what their future will be”
