 Microlight Aircraft Used in Illegal Drug Smuggling Operation 


A Mexican national flying a micro-light aircraft loaded with 223 pounds of marijuana has been apprehended in the USA after illegally crossing the US-Mexican border

The micro-light landed 3 miles south west of Marana Regional Airport in Arizona - the pilot attempted to abscond on foot but the Customs and Border Protection's helicopter landed at the scene and apprehended the pilot

 Ultralight Pilot Survives Crash Landing in Southern NSW 


An ultra-light aircraft crashed at Bombala in New South Wales' south around 400 metres short the town's airstrip after an engine failure - the pilot of the unidentified flying machine glided towards the airstrip but landed short

The 60-year-old pilot extracted himself form the wreck and called emergency services on his mobile phone - he sustained internal chest injuries and suspected spinal injuries and was taken to Bombala Hospital

 Beech Bonanza in Emergency Landing in Remote Part of West OZ 


A six-seat single-engine Beechcraft A36 with four people on board has carried out an emergency landing at the Beagle Bay mission airstrip around 6pm yesterday AWST

The area is quite remote and the Dampier Peninsula police were sent to assist the passengers and pilot who may have had a last-light problem

 Qantas Mayday - Emergency Landing at Learmonth in West OZ 


20 passengers and crew on board Qantas flight QF72 enroute from Singapore to Perth were injured - one seriously - when the Airbus A330-300 they were in suddenly pitched forward forcing those passengers not strapped in their seats to hit the ceiling in the artificial negative G situation that was created by the unexpected manoeuvre

An emergency landing was carried out at a regional airstrip 40km from Exmouth on WA's Gascoyne coast - early reports indicate that a "computer glitch" may have caused the 'bunt'
