Home-Built Bushby Mustang Prang in Victoria Claims Life of Pilot

A 54-year-old highly experienced pilot from Tyabb in Victoria was killed when the amateur-built aircraft he was flying crashed into bushland during an emergency landing

The single-seat 100hp Bushby (Midget) Mustang was constructed in OZ in 1984 and was apparently performing aerobatics over Port Phillip Bay near Mills Beach before it lost power

The aircraft was based at the Peninsula Aero Club who have now lost two members in aircraft crashes over the last two weeks

The pilot Martin Robson had commenced flying in 1983 and upgraded to a commercial pilot's licence in 1994

Martin had been involved with the children's charity Angel Flight - the Starlight Foundation and Fun Flight and was the Peninsula Aero Club's safety officer

He had borrowed the aircraft from the owner and long time aero-club member Robin Black
