Sydney accountant 51 year-old Tom Moon lost his life when performing aerobatics in his two-seat single-engine Extra 300 after it crashed onto the runway at Temora in southern New South Wales and caught fire

Tom was president of the OZ National Aerobatic Club for a number of years and represented Australia at national and world championship levels

Tom was also the treasurer of the Temora Aviation Museum which was founded in 1999 by David Lowy as a tribute to the men and women who fought in aircraft during wartime

He started flying in 1986 and had clocked up more than 1,400 flying hours - 1,100 of them spent carrying out aerobatics
