Media reports have the pilot of an ultralight escaping virtually unscathed after what appears to be an elevator failure when flying at 3500 feet around 215km northeast of Perth

The experienced pilot used the engine "to flatten the plane out" landing sideways before the ultralight "dug in" and flipped - He was able to extract himself from the machine
