 PAIR SURVIVE SA OUTBACK AFTER JABIRU ENGINE FAILURE 

A 64-year-old pilot and his 22-year-old son were lucky to survive in South Oz's outback when the Jabiru aircraft they were in had the engine fail about 50kms east of Coober Pedy - the pair were eventually found 48km north of William Creek after their emergency call was picked up by a passing aircraft and relaid to Canberra

A manager from the Anna Creek station joined with police in driving out to retrieve the Victorian pair by road - the undamaged Jabiru had landed on Anna Creek Road between Lake Eyre and the Davenport Ranges


"It's a huge area out there and he didn't have a survival beacon..."

 PILOT INJURED IN GYROCOPTER PRANG AT BLYTH IN SOUTH OZ 

A 40-year-old gyrocopter pilot sustained a dislocated shoulder after the rotary-wing flying machine he was in crashed at Blyth in South Australia's mid-north

The Country Fire Service along with the local ambulance and police crews were called to the accident site at South Terrace early this morning

 RINGER SURVIVES HELICOPTER PRANG AT EMERALD FLOOD OPS 

A privately operated Robinson R22 helicopter flown by a 28-year-old Capella cattle musterer has crashed in the central Queensland town of Emerald during flood rescue operations - the pilot suffered only minor injuries when the 2-seat rotary-wing ended up on its side after control was lost approximately 3 to 5 metres from the ground during the attempted landing on a makeshift heliport at the Emerald Racecourse

 ASYMMETRIC TRAINING CLAIMS TWIN-COMANCHE AT CAMDEN 

A 34-year-old pilot undergoing asymmetric twin training and the 62-year-old Curtis Aviation instructor were able to walk away from the PA-30 Twin-Comanche they were in after a training sequence malfunctioned forcing the low-powered aircraft to make an emergency landing into the backyard of a property at Kirkham near the Camden airport

 PILOT INJURED IN GYROCOPTER PRANG AT REMOTE NT STATION 

A 59-year-old pilot was injured when his gyrocopter crash-landed at a remote cattle station about 290km north of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory - workers from Neutral Junction Station said his aircraft lost power about 100 feet above the ground - he was airlifted to Alice Springs Hospital for treatment
