F-111's GROUNDED AFTER EMERGENCY AT SINGAPORE AIR-SHOW

Australia's fleet of 15 ageing F-111 strike aircraft have been grounded after an in-flight emergency forced the cancellation of a much publicised "dump and burn" display at the Singapore International Air Show last week

During the flying display an on-board instrument indicated an engine fire - "The pilot terminated the display and declared a mayday.." - an inspection after landing revealed some fire damage to the port engine

SA AIRLINES' USE OF VISUAL COMMS TO EDUCATE PASSENGERS

Short-haul South African carrier Kulula Airlines' Boeing 737 uses an external textual medium to educate passengers as to what's what when about to board their aircraft

Noted for their zany way of advertising and attracting attention it could be called a 'Dummies Guide to Flying' with external text labelling indicating where the pilot sits etc..

EMERGENCY LANDING AT PERTH'S JANDAKOT AIRPORT

A single-engine retractable undercarriage aircraft inbound from Busselton to Jandakot reported problems with its undercarriage that activated the airport's emergency services

The unidentified light aircraft carried out a successful wheels-up landing
The pilot - the only person on board was able to walk away uninjured

VICTORIA'S MORNINGTON PENINSULA CLAIMS ANOTHER AIRCRAFT

A man and a woman have escaped unhurt after their unidentified light aircraft crashed into trees at Baxter on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula

The aircraft was landing on a private airstrip but was flipped on its side because of a wind gust - the pilot and his passenger - both aged in their 50's - were unhurt
