CESSNA C-210 CRASH IN WA GOLDFIELDS ENTRAPS OCCUPANTS

A Rescue Helicopter and emergency services are on their way to rescue two persons trapped inside a crashed Cessna about 65 nautical miles south-east of Kalgoorlie

The male pilot and his passenger are reportedly injured and unable to get out of the Cessna 210 aircraft which came down near Lake Cowan in unknown circumstances

Rescuers located the men - who were suffering from multiple fractures and injuries - sitting on the wing of the high-wing Cessna that had ended up inverted in the salt lake



The 67-year-old pilot and his 52-year-old passenger were airlifted to Kalgoorlie airport - they were on a mine survey in the area at the time of the crash

CESSNA C-210 EMERGENCY LANDING AT DARWIN

All 6 persons on board a Cessna C-210L escaped uninjured when the chartered tourist aircraft they were in carried out an emergency landing on a beach a few kilometres short of the Darwin airport collapsing the nose-wheel in the process due to the soft sand - initial reports suggest a fuel problem may have been the cause of the engine failure

OZ DESIGNED AND BUILT AIRVAN IN WORLD CIRCUMNAVIGATION

Two pilots from Bendigo in Victoria have just completed a circumnavigation of the globe in a fund-raising flight in what is claimed to be the first flight of it's type in an Australian designed and built light aircraft - the 55-day trip covered 52,000 kilometres and took 234 hours of flying time

In 1969 Kiwi pilot Cliff Tait circumnavigated the world SOLO in an Australian designed (this one was Kiwi built) Airtourer ZK-CXU covering 53,097km in 288 flying hours - Victa produced 168 Airtourer's up to 1966 and ceased production after appeals for tariff protection were rejected
