 ULTRA-LIGHT DEMOLISHED BY GUST OF WIND NEAR GLADSTONE 

A 49-year-old pilot of a Savannah ultra-light was taken to the Gladstone Hospital in a stable condition after he lost control of his machine and crashed during the take-off


The 2-seater was apparently caught by a gust of wind that caused it to cartwheel down a hill before coming to rest in a paddock at Wurdong Heights south of Gladstone

 HELICOPTER CRASH NEAR ROLLESTON CLAIMS PILOT'S LIFE 

The QLD Police have reported that a helicopter has crashed on a remote property near Rolleston claiming the life of the pilot


Initial investigations reveal that the aircraft crashed around 12.30 yesterday with only the 39-year-old pilot on board

EARLY AVIATION HISTORY LESSON - SMITHY'S LAST FLIGHT

A replica of the Lady Southern Cross - Sir Charles Kingsford-Smith's Lockheed Altair - has been unveiled at Anderson Park in Neutral Bay Sydney with an enactment of the 1935 flight set to be completed next year by the 78-year-old son - American (Seattle) Charles Kingsford-Smith Jnr



As part of the history lesson the Altair replica will travel to schools around Australia to educate children about the early aviation pioneers in OZ
