 PILOT KILLED IN ULTRALIGHT CRASH NEAR GOONDIWINDI 

A 65-year-old pilot has died after the ultralight aircraft he was flying crashed after striking power-lines in a flood-affected area at Toobeah about 50km north-west of Goondiwindi in QLD


The crash near the QLD-NSW's border occurred about 1445hrs Tuesday - the pilot was the only person on board and died at the scene


Goondiwindi police have advised that the pilot - John Monteith Wood - was flying the ultralight to his neighbour's flooded property to deliver fuel onto a 'just-made' landing strip - he came in too low and the tail of the aircraft hit the power-lines

 PILOT INJURED IN CROP-DUSTER CRASH AT ST. GEORGE 

The pilot of a crop-duster was able to walk away from his downed machined after it crashed a remote property near McDonald Road at St George in south-west QLD around 0800hrs

"The male in the aircraft was able to get himself out and was driven to meet paramedics half way" - he was taken to the St George Hospital for observation

 THREE LIGHT AIRCRAFT EMERGENCIES IN THE NT IN 24 HRS 

A light aircraft - type not identified - has crash-landed in the sea off the Northern Territory coast about 150 kilometres south-west of Darwin at about 1000hrs - the pilot survived uninjured



It's the third aircraft emergency in the Territory in the last 24 hours - yesterday an aircraft made an emergency landing at Darwin Airport when its front wheel failed to lower and in Katherine a twin-engine machine was forced to land after one of its engines failed

 DH-82 CRASH NEAR TABLE TOP MOUNTAIN IN QLD INJURES TWO 

An DH-82 Tiger Moth with two persons on board has crashed into bushland near Table Top Mountain north-west of Toowoomba at around 1720hrs - the bi-plane ended up upside down - one of the persons on board sustained minor injuries and was able to escape from the wreckage whilst the other was trapped in the wreckage with head injuries



Emergency personnel have rescued the occupants and transported them to the Toowoomba hospital for treatment
