 FOREIGN STUDENT PILOT IN LANDING ACCIDENT AT JANDAKOT IN WEST OZ 


A Grob 2-seat trainer owned and operated by China Southern West Australian Flying College at Jandakot had the nose-wheel leg collapse when landing at Jandakot airport in Western Australia to-day



The pilot - who was not injured - was undergoing training with the China Southern Airlines College based on the airfield

 LIGHTWING ULTRALIGHT IN LANDING ACCIDENT AT TAREE IN NSW 


A 2-seat Howard Hughes designed Lightwing ultralight had the port main-undercarriage leg collapse when landing at Taree airport yesterday



Taree's Manning River emergency services personnel responded - "Two Police ..two Ambulance and two NSW Fire Brigade units responded to the crash as well as Taree Rural Fire Service and VRA crews"



The occupants of the Ballina built ultralight were not injured

 SCOFFELL & SON SPITFIRE ACCIDENT IN AROUND-OZ FUNDRAISER FLIGHT 


The father and son team flying around OZ in their home-built replica Spitfire had the starboard main-undercarriage leg collapse when preparing for take-off on landing after it ground looped at Kununurra airport in West OZ



The pair were in the process of flying around Australia in the Spitfire with the intention of raising money for charity



Both the pilot and passenger were uninjured - the aircraft was not so lucky

 RETIRED RQAC CFI JIM CRONIN MAKES LOCAL NEWS WITH HIS LONGEVITY 


Retired Royal Queensland Aero Club Chief Flying Instructor from the the 60's and 70's - Jim Cronin along with his wife Aileen - are celebrating 70-years of wedded bliss this month - a milestone in anyone's language



95-year-old Jim along with his wife Aileen spent an inordinate amount of time at Archerfield during it's heyday - Aileen taking bookings and Jim testing young pilots for their flying standard



The News Desk recalls Jim with more than 22,000 hours in his log book in the late 60's and nearly all of the hours recorded were in single-engine aircraft
