 TWO SURVIVE FORCED LANDING AFTER JABIRU ENGINE FAILURE 


A Jabiru with 2-persons on board has made an emergency landing in a paddock 50kms east of Inglewood in QLD after the engine failed - apparently it was a good landing until the OZ designed and built recreational aircraft hit a rock hidden in the long grass that dislodged the starboard undercarriage leg




Police said the plane left Warwick Aerodrome at 9.15am (yesterday) and experienced engine trouble 20 minutes into the flight - both the pilot and passenger were uninjured

 CAIRNS CHARTER HELICOPTER IN FATAL CRASH AT SHOALWATER BAY 


News reports have a Cairns based Heli-Charters helicopter - an Aerospatiale AS.350BA - crashing on the southern side of Double Mountain in the Shoalwater Bay military training area north of Rockhamption about 1230hrs to-day with the loss of life




The helicopter was reported by a passenger to have crashed while conducting a tower maintenance task - QLD police have advised that of the 3 persons on board there are two deceased and one injured

 OZ GOVERNMENT MINISTERS HYPOCRISY ON ARCHERFIELD SAFETY ISSUES 


The Archerfield Airport Chamber of Commerce Inc has listed eight prominent General Aviation Industry Organisations in supporting a media release that condemns the Federal Infrastructure and Transport Minister - the Hon Anthony Albanese MP - over aviation safety hypocrisy




Currently the subject of a Ministerial decision by Mr Albanese - the Archerfield Airport Draft Master Plan for 2011 proposes that the entire “Public Safety Area” on airport land be developed mainly as industrial land contrary to Queensland State Planning Laws and safety
