 CATTLE MUSTERING CESSNA ACCIDENT CLAIMS LIFE OF BOURKE PILOT 


The outback town of Bourke is mourning its former mayor and local grazier Wayne O'Mally after the Cessna 150 he was flying impacted the ground early yesterday during what appears to be a cattle mustering operation


Media reports have the pilot mustering cattle on his Marion Downs property about 60km north-east of Bourke in a 1977 2-seater pilot-training style Cessna 150 VH-UWR

 ARCHERFIELD TRAINED AIR CHARTER PILOT IN NEW BUSINESS VENTURE 


It was only 44-years ago that Peter Henderson started to learn how to fly at Archerfield obtaining his private pilot's licence then his commercial ticket by the mid-70's that enabled him to be employed as a charter pilot flying to all parts of the country and beyond


After giving it considerable thought in recent years Peter decided to "avago" and buy an aircraft that he was very familiar with and has now started his own air charter company


"South Pacific Airways specialises in trips to outback Australia, but will fly anywhere in the country in their six-seat PA-31 twin-engine Piper Navajo that can carry five passengers and the pilot"

 MEDIA INTEREST IN GRUMMAN ALBATROSS'S ARRIVAL ON SYDNEY HARBOUR 


A 22-seat Grumman Albatross made a spectacular entry onto Sydney Harbour today much to the delight of the TV journalist who was able to hitch a ride on this magnificent flying boat


"New owner Mack McCormack, a former SAS trooper, will take the plane on a tour to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Japanese attacks on Darwin, Roebuck Bay and Pearl Harbour"


The plan is to base the amphibian in Broome for tourist scenic flights
