 OCTOGENARIAN PILOT'S EMERGENCY LANDING AT JANDAKOT IN WEST OZ 

An 82-year-old pilot of a Piper Cherokee-6 carried out a successful emergency landing after the engine of the PA-32 he was flying failed immediately after take-off from Jandakot airport in West OZ

One of the passengers - a 68-year-old sustained minor injuries and was transported to the Fremantle Hospital - the other 70-year-old male passenger was uninjured

 CIRRUS PARACHUTE DEPLOYED AFTER ENGINE FAILURE NEAR GILGANDRA 

The pilot of a SR22 Cirrus deployed the aircraft's emergency parachute after the engine failed just short of the intended destination of Dubbo in NSW after a flight from Emerald in QLD

The two men on board - aged 41 and 28 - sustained only minor injuries and both were taken to the Dubbo Base Hospital for treatment and observation - the damage to the SR22 was substantial

 ROYAL FLYING DOCTOR SERVICE SACKS PILOT OVER ILLICIT DRUG USE 

For the first time in the 84-year-history of the Royal Flying Doctor Service a pilot has lost his job after testing positive to flying under the influence of drugs or alcohol as a result of the RFDS's "zero-tolerance" policy on this issue "..the pilot was sacked yesterday over the incident on an RFDS King Air B200 on November 5"

A nurse on board the Beech Super King Air - that was transporting patients from Bundaberg to Brisbane - had to wake the pilot as the aircraft approached Brisbane airport "...the pilot allegedly passed out at the controls for 13 minutes while transporting patients later testing positive to methamphetamine"
