INACCURATE FINAL REPORT HIGHLIGHTS ANTIQUATED AIR CONTROL SYSTEM

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau has released their final report on the near collision - referred to in the industry as a "Loss of Separation Assurance" - between two passenger jets inbound to Brisbane who were required to hold for inbound traffic sequencing due to inadequate and poor controller training that was evident in 2011

"...we have a third world air traffic control system and a system of oversights and corrective actions that are leaving the flying public exposed to mortal peril" - the ATSB report summary has the position South-West of Brisbane but in the Location Details it's South-South-East - the BLAKA location is virtually South of Brisbane
