FOUR SURVIVE R44 HELICOPTER PRANG ON MT BULLER IN SNOWY MOUNTAINS

A pilot along with his 3-passengers have escaped virtually unscathed after the R44 helicopter they were in crashed and rolled down the side of a hill when trying to land on a helipad at Mount Buller in the Snowy Mountains

Believed to be a Snowy Mountains 1000 Race team .."A racing car driver was piloting the chopper and his three crew were aboard ...involved with the Targa High Country rally to take place in the region over the weekend"

PA-31 UNDERCARRIAGE FAILURE LANDING AT ADELAIDE AIRPORT IN SOUTH OZ

A pilot and a passenger escaped uninjured after the Piper PA-31 Navajo Chieftain they were in had the starboard main undercarriage leg collapse during landing at Adelaide airport on Saturday night

Indications are that it's a maintenance issue ..."The ATSB are not investigating but the Civil Aviation Safety Authority is expected to complete a regulatory report into the incident"

CHARTER HELICOPTER DISINTEGRATES AFTER LOSS OF CONTROL ON TAKE-OFF

A 45-year-old female pilot has escaped virtually unscathed after the Bell helicopter she was flying flipped over during take-off from a temporary helipad at the Collingwood Football Club's oval during the Victoria Derby races in Melbourne

During impact with the ground the rotor "came off the helicopter ..flew through a nearby marquee and damaged a nearby car - the pilot is suffering from shock (with) minor injuries to her hands and is recovering in the Alfred Hospital"

WIND GUST CLAIMS CESSNA 172 LANDING NEAR BURRA IN SOUTH OZ

A 43-year-old pilot of Cessna 172 - who was delivering parts for the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute - was uninjured after a gust of wind and loss of directional control caused the Cessna to clip a tree adjacent to the landing strip

The impact with the tree tore off the outboard section of the port wing it then bounced "a little before coming to rest near the roadway - the pilot got out the cab straight away ..went straight to the doctors to get checked and was okay"
