SEARCH UNDER WAY FOR MISSING CESSNA COVERING SYDNEY TO HOBART RACE

Emergency services are searching for the pilot and photographer who were on-board an Airlines of Tasmania Cessna 172 that apparently crashed into the sea whilst filming yachts in the Sydney to Hobart race near the Tasman Peninsula

"..light aircraft with possible two people on board has gone down in the Port Arthur Storm Bay area"
"...aircraft was VH-PFT a Cessna 172 which was conducting aerial photography of the Sydney to Hobart yacht race"

The bodies of the pilot 29-year-old Sam Langford and passenger 61-year-old Tim Jones were found in the cockpit of the submerged wreck near Cape Raoul off the Tasman Peninsula

"A young lady (on board racing yacht Helsal III) said a plane had just crashed"
"...the plane sank within 30 seconds, no-one was seen getting out and no distress call was made"

BEECH B76 TRAINING TWIN IN EMERGENCY LANDING AT BUNBURY IN WEST OZ

The Bunbury Aero Club's chief flying instructor (VFR) along with her male passenger escaped uninjured after the twin-engine Beech B76 they were in suffered an undercarriage malfunction that forced a 'wheels-up' landing

The aircraft landed successfully at Bunbury airport in West OZ and was lifted off the runway a short time later

"The pilot and the passenger have both exited the plane and are not injured"

SCHWEIZER TRAINING HELICOPTER PRANG AT PARAFIELD IN SOUTH OZ

An Adelaide Flight Training instructor sustained minor injuries after a pilot training exercise in a Schweizer 269C-1 helicopter malfunctioned at Parafield airport in South OZ

The trainee pilot had just carried out an (unsuccessful) emergency landing exercise
"The instructor sustained a minor rib injury and was taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital - the trainee pilot was uninjured"
