OZ ROCKETMAN ENTERTAINS RECORD CRICKET CROWD AT THE GABBA

Entertainment for the fans of the limited over cricket match between the Brisbane Heat League and the Melbourne Stars at the Gabba during the tea-break included "OZ Rocket Man" with the pilot - David Clarke - creating a short but spectacular flight across the stadium

Based on the original "Bell Rocket Belt" of the 1960's - the noise generating steam emitting backpack ...highlighted the manoeuvrability of the portable rocket pack that included a sweeping turn at around 60kph then slowing down to zero for landing

PASSENGERS ALARMED WHEN KIWI AIR BUS HAS ENGINE FAILURE IN VIC

An Air New Zealand flight from Melbourne to Auckland with 151 persons on board was forced to make an emergency landing back at Melbourne airport after one of its two engines failed shortly after take-off

Passengers were accommodated in hotels in Melbourne and say they are relieved to be back on land ..."It was crazy but I'm just glad we're back ...everyone's in one piece"

28-year-old Yeppoon property manager Tim Gibson has won a trip into space - sponsored by a body fragrance company - on board the Bert Rutan designed and Richard Branson financed SpaceShipTwo that is expected to start commercial space flights in late 2014
