TWO INJURED IN VINTAGE X-RAF CHIPMUNK TRAINER CRASH AT COFFS HARBOUR

Two people were injured - one seriously - after the 1950's vintage Chipmunk aircraft they were in impacted 'Terra-firma' south of the Coffs Harbour airport after failing to recover from what appears to be an aerobatic 'spin' manoeuvre

The 46-year-old pilot sustained head injuries and was trapped in the aircraft for a short time - the 22-year-old passenger received only minor injuries - both men were taken to the Coffs Harbour Health Campus

TECNAM P96 ULTRALIGHT CRASH IN BAROSSA VALLEY CLAIMS TWO LIVES

Two men have died after the 2-seat Tecnam ultralight they were in crashed in unknown circumstances at Krondorf in South OZ's Barossa Valley

Initial reports suggest it may have been a weather-related accident with reduced visibility and subsequent loss of control with airspeed exceeding the design limit

LOW-TIME ARCHERFIELD PILOT IN RFDS FUNDRAISER FLIGHT AROUND OZ

A 17-year-old 'junior' pilot from Cleveland - Alex Fisher - is preparing to embark on the trip of a lifetime by flying around OZ in a Cessna 172 'donated' by long-time Archerfield air-traffic controller Geoff Shield

Recently acquired by Geoff the 1980 model Cessna 172 is expected to take 80-hrs of flying to complete the trip which will cost in excess of $5,000 just for the fuel alone
