STUDENT PILOT ESCAPES INJURY AFTER LANDING PRANG AT BANKSTOWN

A 19-year-old student pilot conducting solo circuits directly after a dual check by her instructor has escaped uninjured after the 2-seat pilot-trainer aircraft she was flying bounced during the landing process causing her to lose directional control

The aircraft - operated by Bankstown's Regal Air - crashed into the runway boundary fence before coming to rest

"The student was not injured but the Diamond 40 aircraft was substantially damaged"

QANTAS SEEKS PILOT REDUNDANCIES FIRST TIME IN 92-YEAR-OLD HISTORY

Media has reported that for the first time in its history Qantas is seeking around 100 voluntary redundancies from 550 pilots of Boeing B747 and B787 aircraft

The company has "..targeted expression of interest in voluntary redundancy for B767 and B747 Captains and First Officers"

CICARE EXPERIMENTAL HELICOPTER CRASH CLAIMS LIFE OF BARCALDINE PILOT

The owner of Lara Station near Barcaldine - 47-year-old Michael Wills - has died after the Cicare CH-7B single-seat mustering helicopter he was flying crashed in unknown circumstances at Hulton Station 45km north-west of Barcaldine

The Argentine designed CH-7B ultralight helicopter is new to the OZ heli-muster scene "...understood to have undertaken helicopter mustering work for a number of local graziers and had a lot of experience with the machines"
