The pilot along with his passenger on board a 1980 model Cessna 310 Twin have lost their lives after the turbocharged twin-engine aircraft impacted terrain north of Taree after what appears to be loss-of-control as a result of a low-level steep-turn onto final

A witness "...saw a light aircraft banking sharply and completely turned on its side ...went completely over ...it sharply rolled onto it's back and then came straight down"
Pilot had a private airstrip at Johns River

 Quote from Media:
"The aircraft is in at least two distinct parts ...one wing was located on one side of the road with the main body of the plane on the other" - The C210 had just left Darwin Airport
