 • 1 Basis of the terms

 1.1 
 These contract terms form part of the move to aligning charges more closely with
 facilities and services used. They replace charging under the Determination under
 section 53(1) of the Air Services Act 1995.

 1.2 
 We agree to make the facilities and services available for use in return for your
 agreeing to pay the charges for them under these terms.

 • 2 Scope and nature of charges

 2.1
 These terms cover:
 a) terminal navigation charges
 b) rescue and firefighting charges
 c) en-route charges.

 2.2 
 The charges:
 a) apply to all flights of your aircraft, both domestic (within an Australian
  flight information region) and international (to and from an Australian
  flight information region) except:
  i) flights that you notify us are maintenance or test flights; and
  ii) operational missed approaches

 b) include a discount at specified aerodromes for circuit training.

 2.3
 The charges are calculated on each tonne of the maximum take-off weight as set
 out in the flight manual of the aircraft, with any part of a tonne charged on a pro-rata
 basis.

 • 3 Terminal navigation charges

 3.1
 The charge for terminal navigation facilities and services when a control service is
 available at the time of landing is:

 a) for each landing or practice instrument approach at an aerodrome with a tower
 service.

 Albury, Alice Springs, Archerfield,
 Bankstown, Camden, Coffs Harbour,
 Essendon, Hobart, Jandakot, Launceston,
 Mackay, Maroochydore, Moorabbin,
 Parafield, Rockhampton, Tamworth

 with:
 i) a minimum charge of $20 at Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne,
 Perth and Sydney

 ii) each landing in Australia of an inbound or outbound international flight
 charged at the international rate

 Piper Cherokee PA32 weighing 1.6 tonnes landing at:
 • Brisbane aerodrome: $4.69 x 1.6 = $7.50
   but minimum charge of $20 applies
 • Archerfield aerodrome: $6.75 x 1.6 = $10.80

 b) for each landing at a place within a control zone associated with an aerodrome
 in (a) (but not at the aerodrome itself) - 50% of the charge in (a)

 A helipad at a capital city television station may be an example of a place within the
 control zone of an aerodrome.

 Aerospatiale AS355 helicopter weighing 3.4 tonnes, landing within the control zone of
 Brisbane aerodrome but not at Brisbane aerodrome itself:
 Charge = $4.69 x 3.4 tonnes x 50% = $7.97

 c) for each touch and go, stop and go, overshoot, or go around during circuit
 training.

 Aerodrome Charge ($/tonne)

 Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne,
 Perth, Sydney the charge in (a)

 All other locations in 3.1 (a)

 -- fixed wing aircraft 50% of charge in (a)

 • Helicopters

 -- if ERSA requires contact with tower 25% of charge in (a)
 -- if no contact required no charge

 If the number of circuits is not known, a session is taken to be 6 for fixed wing
 aircraft and 12 for helicopters.

 3.2
 These charges do not apply if the services are not available for use by the aircraft
 at the time of landing or during circuit training.

 3.3
 The charge for out-of-hours operation of terminal navigation facilities and services
 made available following a request by you is, in addition to the charges under 3.1:

 Before or after normal hours

 Charge:-
 up to 30 minutes $30
 over 30 up to 60 minutes $60
 over 1 hour up to 3 hours $320
 each additional hour or part hour $80

 The rostered hours of operation for each aerodrome are notified in the En-Route
 Supplement Australia (ERSA) and Notices to Airmen (NOTAM).

 • 4 Rescue and firefighting charges

 4.1
 The charge for rescue and firefighting facilities and services for aircraft with a
 maximum take-off weight of 2.5 tonnes or greater is:

 a) for each landing or practice instrument approach:-
