Hans Gutmann from Wieselburg, Austria, Central Europe, landed
Archerfield Sunday on his around the World Flight.
Hans flying his "Home Made" Glass Air 11 aircraft, left on August
15, for his epic journey.
He has travelled via the Middle East, India, Singapore, Malaysia, Darwin,
Tindal, Mackay to Archerfield.
After Checking out his Engine (Lyc IO-360 of 180hp) to-day, Hans next
stop is Noumea, then onto the U.S.A. where Hans has entered a Precision
Flying Competition at Fort Worth, Texas.
Married with an adult daughter, Hans "Manual Arts" School Teaching
position allows some flexibility to "see the world".
If all goes smoothly, the Glass Air with Hans on board will return to Austria

In Texas, Hans was a participant in the World Precision Flying Championships,
Achieved 2nd. Place in the Landing Championship.
Then he went onto WILLLAMSPORT ( Pensylvania) - BANGOR (Maine) - HALIFAX (New Foundland)
Gander (New Foundland) - PONTA DEL GARDA (Azores) - LISBOA (Portugal) - LE PUY (France)
and finished at WELS (Austria) - 12th October 1996.
Hans flew 167 hours and used approximately 5.000 litres of fuel.
