 THE SPIRIT OF EAA FRIENDSHIP WORLD TOUR COMES TO A CLOSE
 "AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 NIGHTS"
 Our intrepid world travelers have conquered world flight in their
 modified LongEZ homebuilts!  After 81 days and 80 nights on the road,
 pilots Mike Melvill and Dick Rutan returned to Mojave Airport on June
 24th.

 During the flight, each pilot flew over 38,000 miles during their 240
 hours in the air; mileage equivalent to a trip and a half around the
 world at the equator!  Their average speed was 160 mph, they each burned
 about 2040 gallons of fuel, and each used 30 quarts of oil.

 We plan to have a welcome home hangar party for them on Saturday, July
 26th.  Please e-mail me (kelly@hughes.net) for details.  Their
 presentation will be complete with film, slides, photos and narrative
 about the adventure.

 WORLD FLIGHT TOUR HOMECOMING PARTY AT HANSEN'S

 After 80 nights on the road, Mike Melvill and Dick Rutan have returned
 from The Spirit Of EAA Friendship World Tour.  A homecoming party has
 been slated for Saturday, July 26th from 2:00 to 6:00.  Drive in, fly in
 or walk in, but don't miss this exciting day of great food and great
 stories about a most incredible adventure by these two brave pilots.

 Slides, film, photos and narration by Mike and Dick will make this a day
 you'll never forget.  

 To RSVP, please phone, fax or e-mail one of the following.  Please
 provide your name, number attending, and a telephone number.  No
 confirmation will be returned.  We request each in attendance brings a
 ten dollar bill to help cover expenses.  You may pay at the door.  The
 Hansen Hangar is located at the Belshaw entrance to the Mojave Airport
 and will be marked with signs and balloons.
